Story:
During a severe storm last year, we got two calls about dogs in need. One sadly didn't make it, but the other, a little puppy, had been given some protection from the rain by a good Samaritan.
Unfortunately, they could not take her home and by the time we were able to get to her, we found that she had a horrific injury.
She apparently had been hit by a car and her thigh bone was protruding from her leg - she had been there for over 24 hours.
Once we got her back to the shelter we called her Mopsie and after x-rays it transpired that her other leg was also fractured. The leg with the protruding bone was not possible to save so an emergency amputation was carried out. Then, because she was so young, we hoped the other leg would recover after cage rest. Happily that was the case and today Mopsie runs all over the place with her three legs. She is a super cute young girl and her confidence is growing but understandably, she can be wary of people until she gets to know them.
