Caden

Caden

During the worst time any of us can remember, we had a number of dogs die suddenly of an illness we were never able to identify. They suddenly became lethargic and unresponsive and died shortly after.

We rescued Caden in April 2024 with a severe head wound and very thin. He was initially part of our Adopt A Stray program, but the adoption fell through, so we kept him at the shelter. Caden was so friendly from the beginning – such a sweet soul.  We are heartbroken by his passing.

Caden – Adopt a Stray

Caden's infected wound

Caden's infected wound

On 15 April 2024, under our "Adopt a Stray" programme, we rescued a dog with a very badly infected head wound.  He is called Caden.  It will take some time t treat the wound, as maggots had already started to multiply.  We have to hope we got them all out and the medication will begin to have an affect.

We took out as much dead and infected tissue as we could, and closed up his wound, dressing his head in an attactive blue gauze bandage.  He will have to wear this for some time, as the wound area was large, but we hope he will recover enough to return to his adopter in due course.
