Tia

Tia

Tia

Approximate age:

5 years
Date arrived at Sanctuary:

August 2021

Where from:

Hit and run

Story:

Tia was the victim of a hit and run left by the roadside with a fractured leg that was so bad the bone was sticking through. Fortunately, with the magic work of our vets and a few months of total rest, Tia's fracture and wounds healed and soon she started to integrate into the sanctuary. Tia is a quiet girl who like to her own space and mainly hangs out in the kitchen area.

She still has a slight limp but in herself she seems to be a very content dog.  She will most likely be one of the first dogs to move to the new sanctuary once it becomes ready in the next few months, so it will be very nice to see how they all start settling in.

Rylee

Rylee

Approximate age:

1 year
Date arrived at Sanctuary:

November 2024

Where from:

Dumped outside sanctuary

Story:

Rylee and her 6 siblings were dumped in a sack on the road near to the Sanctuary. They all tested positive for distemper and we sadly lost two of the litter. Her 4 other siblings were adopted and but Rylee wasn't chosen so she has remained with us.

She is a very dainty, young lady who is little shy at times with other dogs but she does like to spent a bit of time with her hoomans receiving some attention. It's nice to watch how she is growing in confidence as time goes by.

Pringle

Pringle

Pringle

Approximate age:

1 year
Date arrived at Sanctuary:

Feb 2024

Where from:

Dumped outside sanctuary

Story:

Pringle and her 4 sisters were dumped outside the sanctuary one night. Her three sisters were adopted quite quickly but Pringle being a little bit more shy was overlooked and remained at the sanctuary with us. She is a little sweetie, who likes her own company and probably misses her sisters but she is integrating well and starting to grow in confidence everyday.

Pele

Pele

Approximate age:

2 years
Date arrived at Sanctuary:

November 2023

Where from:

Abandoned

Story:

Pele and his three siblings were abandoned on the road to the Sanctuary and we thought they were all very lucky to be adopted to good homes very quickly. Unfortunately after about 2 years, we received a call from a reporter who said there were two dogs locked on a balcony with no food or water and the owners had left to go abroad leaving someone to feed them.

When we investigated we realised one of those dogs was Pele and he was with another dog called Nemo (not a DAS rescue). Of course, we had to bring both of them back to the safety of the Sanctuary. Pele was quite aggressive at first, protecting his smaller friend Nemo - what can be expected after such terrible treatment? The nice thing is, he is starting to relax a little and becoming more sociable.

Patch

Patch

Approximate age:

7 years
Date arrived at Sanctuary:

June 2019

Where from:

Abandoned next to road

Story:

Patch and his 4 siblings came to the sanctuary at about 1 month old suffering from parvo and distemper. Unfortunately two of the siblings didn't make it but Patch and his two sister Spotty and Dora are still at the Sanctuary. He is a very handsome boy, very lively and likes to rule the roost in the kitchen area where he hangs out with his sisters and other friends. He will most likely be one of the first dogs which moves to the new Sanctuary once it is ready for the first batch of new residents.
