Brutus

On 23 February 2024, under our "Adopt a Stray" programme, we responded to an emergency call for dog with a very badly-infected head wound.  We called him Brutus.

The wound was infested with maggots and was in desperate need of cleaning out.  We put him on antibiotics to combat the infection.  Within a few weeks, his wounds were sufficiently healed, and we returned him to his new home.

Amiga – Adopt a Stray

Patchie when rescued

On 23 February 2024, under our "Adopt a Stray" programme, we responded to an emergency call for dog caught on a barbed wired fence.  It was a delicate operation to remove her without causing more damage, but our staff are more than experience enough in rescues!

She was in good condition, with just a leg wound to be treated so it wasn't long before she was returned to her community, and told to stay away from barbed-wire fences!

Great news!  On 25 March 2024, little Bell was collected by Eliodoro to begin her new life in Bais, about an hour's drive away.  We are sure she'll be happy there, but we feel sad for her sister Babs who is still waiting for her new life to begin.

Uri – Adopt a Stray

On 22 March 2024, under our "Adopt a Stray" programme, we responded to a report of a a dog in a very sorry state which we called Jax.  When we got to the location, the reporter, who also is the adopter, asked us about another dog - this time a female called Uri.

She too has bad mange, is very thin, and has some open sores on her ears and elsewhere which is not treated will become infected, and that outcome would likely spell the end for her.  We hope to return both Uri and Jax to full health before returning them to their new homes.

On 22 March 2024, under our "Adopt a Stray" programme, we took in a dog in a very sorry state.  A severe case of Mange and Malnutrition, but if we can get him well again, he has a home to go to as his reporter will adopt him.  He is called Jax.

It's not clear what's caused these wounds, but we restored him to full health, and he left us on 31 July 2024. Just look at his transformation!
