Another extra happy adoption story.  Pumpkin has been adopted by the same family who took in siblings Ritchie, Reggie and Roddy (see News Post Reggie Ritche and Roddy Adopted!).

Sadly, poor Richie didn't survive the Distemper infection he must have had before he even arrived at the Sanctuary, but all the other pups did.

After a while, the family decided they were ready to adopt another pup and came back for Pumpkin. Here she is with her adopted her brother Roddy.

Jake Adopted!

As we reported last week, Jake was recovering in foster care from an operation to remove bladder stones, but it only took Mark only 5 days to fall in love with Jake and give him a permanent home!

He has now been given the official name of Jacob Marley Keating - thanks to Mark and family for adopting him, and thank you to everyone who donated for Jake at his time of rescue, for his amputation and for his recent surgery and to everyone who donates generally.  That dog lying happily on his back is only there because of you!

Donny Adopted!

Another adoption this week - one of the five D's, Donny got adopted by Cyndee last Tuesday.  We couldn't be happier, he is such a sweetie!  Cyndee renamed him Chico.


On 27 April 2021, someone dumped a mother dog and 6 puppies not far from the Sanctuary. One puppy was squashed by a car and the mother disappeared so we just couldn't leave them.
We named them the five Ds - Donny, Dean, Dirk, Dottie and Dawn.  Donny is the first of the five to be adopted - let's hope the other four are just as lucky!

Pickle Adopted!

We have some fantastic news - tiny little Pickle is being adopted today. She is going to a wonderful home in Cebu, adopted by the parents of our DAS rep in Cebu, Beverly.


She was rescued on 6 April 2021, with a what looked like a large cancerous tumor on her side.  After surgery, tests confirmed it was benign, and after a period of recovery, she was well enough to start her new life in Cebu!

Rain Adopted!

Rain Adopted!

Rain was one of five puppies found abandoned in Bacong in April 2021. They were bought to the Sanctuary, and within a few days, Roddy, Reggie and Richie were all adopted.


Sadly, Richie fell ill and tested positive for distemper. He likely had it when he came into the Sanctuary but it’s not possible to test if there are no active symptoms, and it can take up to 6 weeks for first signs to show. Distemper is a terrible disease and is highly contagious. Rain also tested positive, and we immediately appealed for a foster to save her life as she could not stay at the Sanctuary because of the risk to the whole dog population.


Distemper is not contagious to humans so we were delighted when Emma and her partner took her in, with food and medicines provided by DAS.
Amazingly, Emma has adopted Rain, despite having distemper. We wish Rain, Emma and her partner good health and a happy life together.
