Willa Adopted!
Great news! On 3 March 2024, young Willa was adopted! Sibling Whiskey had already gone to her new home, and that leaves just Wanda and Whoopie waiting for their turn. We hope it wont be long. Good luck Willa!

Another great morning at Valencia, with 3 adoptions! Kylie and Sushi were adopted together, and young Avery found her home.
We are especially happy these three dogs have been adopted - there's always a lot of interest in the young puppies (which we understand!) - but so many don't get picked for no simple reason, grow up, and then are overlooked by potential adopters. These dogs are not puppies, but not yet adult either, and are prime for new homes where their training, begun by us, can continue. Bye Bye Kylie, Sushi and Avery! We will see you soon for your free annual vaccinations! Click on the links to read more about their rescue stories.
We couldn't be happier with one of our recent double-adoptions. Marianne and Mark were looking to adopt one or two adult dogs, and made a number of visits to the Sanctuary to see who they bonded with. We see so many puppy adoptions, it's a delight when not one, but two adult dogs find their home.
Miles is one of our longer term residents, and is a lovely-tempered boy. It was love at first sight when Mark met him! Has has had problems over the years with his coat, with little hot spots appearing now and again. In a close environment of nearly 200 dogs some will be more susceptible to mites and allergies. As there will just be him and Reina at their new home, we are hoping these little irritations will disappear completely.
Reina was a more recent rescue,
and walked right up to Marianne on one of their visits and made it quiet clear that she wanted to go home with them! She's a gentle and inquisitive soul, and a good match for the more elderly Miles.
We wish them both all the luck in the world, and look forward to seeing how they settle in to their new home. Thanks Mark and Marianne!
We're delighted that Zara and Zuri have been adopted together again, we wish them all the best. We bought them back to the Sanctuary as their first adopters could not keep up with their vaccinations, despite us offering them for free for the first year. It's really not much to ask, and is part of the Adoption Commitment we ask all our adopters to read, understand and comply with.
We will investigate her mobility issues, deal with her infestations, and get her well fed and ready to begin her new life with her reporter.
