Ryan's Story
On 1 September 2023, a couple of puppies were found close to the Sanctuary. We named them Ryan and Rhys. Rhys went on to be adopted, and a few short weeks later it was Ryan's turn. We were so happy to see him go to what we hoped would be a forever home.
We follow up on all our adoptees until we are sure that they are ok and settled into their new families. If we believe that they are not happy there - or able to receive the standard of care that we expect, we bring them back. In the last two weeks we have brought back a number of adoptees, including Ryan on 25 January 2024, who was withdrawn and petrified.

Often the reason is that the new owners don't have the time to give to the rescues or that the work involved in looking after a dog was more than they anticipated. We carefully vet each adopter, and ask them to adhere to our Adoption Commitment, but sometimes things just don't work out. Regardless of the reason, the health and happiness of the adopted dog is our primary concern, and we will not hesitate to recover animals we feel would be better placed elsewhere. If you feel you have the space, time and commitment to give Ryan another shot at happiness, please message us.
