WALTER

Walter

Walter was one of the first rescues of 2023.  Most likely a hit and run victim, he is an old dog, but didn't deserve to be left to die in on the side of the road.

His treatments are costly, but to return him to reasonable health for whatever time he has left is worth every peso.

Walter's Story

Despite the staff being on leave on 2 January 2023 following back-to-back shifts at the Sanctuary calming the dogs during the long days and nights of irresponsible fireworks, they came in to rescue poor Walter who was lying, whimpering, and unable to move.

After full tests on arrival at the Sanctuary, we needed a vet consult the following day to assess the nature of his injuries.  He has injuries to his legs, lots of ticks, and his liver was inflamed, but the dislocated vertebrae were the cause of his immobility.  We hope that with care and laser treatments, which promotes bone and cartilage growth around the dislocation, he will get back on his feet again.  Any financial help with his treatments, which will amount to $500 or more, will be most welcome. You can visit our Donate page for information on how to contribute to the ever-growing expense of looking after the welfare of 160+ animals.
