LAUREN

Lauren

Lauren

Abandoned outside the Sanctuary on 10 September 2021, Lauren was quickly adopted, but was re-admitted to the Sanctuary dangerously close to death with infections and infestations.  She's on the mend, and we hope it'll be second time lucky for her with a new family.

Lauren's Story

Abandoned with Isla Mae outside the Sanctuary around 10 September 2021, Lauren had clearly been cared for before being dumped.  Being an affectionate and playful girl, she was adopted within a couple of weeks, and we were delighted she had found a new home.

Lauren returns

In early January 2022 her adopters bought her to the Sanctuary for the free spaying service we offer to all our adopted dogs (along with free annual vaccinations).  The procedure went well, and the adopters were given instructions on how to care for her post surgery.

Her wounds got infected, and the adopters did not act quickly to bring her in to the Sanctuary, eventually relying on a neighbour to do this.  It's lucky they didn't wait any longer, as she was in such a poor state of infection, she needed an emergency blood transfusion from the mighty Delfin to stand any chance of surviving.

Delfin to the rescue

This seemed to have rescued her to the point where she can be treated for the infection, plus worms and the tick-borne disease Erlichia which she is also suffering from.  She's now in the right place to make a full recovery, and we hope it won't be long before she finds her way to a new caring foster family.
