BAILEY

Bailey

Bailey was originally rescued by another Animal Welfare shelter in 2017 along another dog Ginny, and adopted in 2018.

They were later returned to us when their adopter was left stranded overseas due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

He spends all his time with Ginny, and they would make a wonderful adopted team again.

Bailey's Story

Bailey was called Mike when he was first rescued and was with another dog Linda (now Ginny). We are not sure if they are siblings or mother and son but both had apparently spent their whole lives chained up according to a neighbour.

Ginny

The adopter Georgie was looking to take dogs who had little chance of being adopted, and for the first time in their lives, they had freedom to roam around in a garden and sleep in the house.

Unfortunately, when the pandemic hit – Georgie was stuck outside the country and unable to get back in so we brought Bailey and Ginny into DAS.

Bailey was very wary of people for months – we could not get near him. He was also very thin and had a persistent cough.
We neutered him and after that he started putting on weight and finally through extensive treatment, his cough has now gone.

Bailey

They stayed at the Sanctuary together until 2024, when the increasingly over-crowded situation, and their above-average medication needs meant they were ideal candidates to move to the quieter and more peaceful surroundings of the vet's house in Bacong.
