MILES

miles

Miles was rescued in April 2020 from a life of scavenging food and scraps.  He had a severe case of Mange.

He is recovering well, and initially he was very nervous, but he is slowly becoming more sociable, and needs a caring home of his own now.

Miles

miles' STORY

Miles was rescued on April 1st 2021 by two of our volunteers Sam and Emma. They had seen him a few times scavenging for food in their area and he clearly wasn’t going to survive much longer.  He had a severe case of mange and was absolutely terrified of people.

We put him in quarantine for his mandatory 2 weeks but he got out of his kennel and hid in the grass for the next 3 weeks.

We castrated him after 3 weeks and then within the next week he started allowing us to touch him.

Miles

He is now much more playful, and ready for adoption.

Miles and Reina Adopted!

Reina and Miles adopted

We couldn't be happier with one of our recent double-adoptions.  Marianne and Mark were looking to adopt one or two adult dogs, and made a number of visits to the Sanctuary to see who they bonded with.  We see so many puppy adoptions, it's a delight when not one, but two adult dogs find their home.

Miles is one of our longer term residents, and is a lovely-tempered boy.  It was love at first sight when Mark met him!  Has has had problems over the years with his coat, with little hot spots appearing now and again.  In a close environment of nearly 200 dogs some will be more susceptible to mites and allergies.  As there will just be him and Reina at their new home, we are hoping these little irritations will disappear completely.

and walked right up to Marianne on one of their visits and made it quiet clear that she wanted to go home with them!  She's a gentle and inquisitive soul, and a good match for the more elderly Miles.

We wish them both all the luck in the world, and look forward to seeing how they settle in to their new home.  Thanks Mark and Marianne!
