GUS

Gus

In May 2023, driving back to the Sanctuary we found a puppy wandering lost and confused in the road.  We had to take him in or the next car passing would have hit him for sure.  He was in a bad state - skinny with a bad case of mange and fleas - but he's developing into a big strong boy now, ready for his forever home.

Gus's Story

Driving back to the Sanctuary in May 2023, our staff came across a skinny, mangy puppy wandering dazed and confused in the middle of the road.  He looked in a very poor state, and maybe a couple of months old.  Perhaps he was in a litter of puppies and his mother was killed, or he was abandoned when he contracted Mange.

Gus

Mange is actually usually easy to treat, with some inexpensive treatments available for people on low incomes (Ivermectin), but many people here look on Mange as a disease infectious to humans (it generally isn't) and don't like to go near puppies when they get it.

Gus

Gus

He was a very sad and lonely boy during his quarantine isolation, and it must have itched terribly as his hair began to grow back.

Gus

Gus

He's now in great shape, very loving, and can;t wait to go home with you!
