FRANKIE

Frankie

Frankie was reported to us in November 2022 with a bone stuck in his mouth which he was unable to clear. He is very old, pretty much blind, and has Anaplasma, but the good news is that the people who reported him are going to adopt him for whatever time he has left.  At last his suffering will be at an end!

Frankie's Story

We rescued Frankie on 11 November 2022, along with two other dogs we were able to raise funds to help - Bilbo and Sansa.

Frankie had a large bone caught in his throat, but Doc Gama at Animal Wellness got it out!  We then began a battery of tests on the poor old boy, and happily discovered that despite his age, he wasn't in terrible shape.

He has Anaplasma, which will require a treatment with antibiotics, and an enlarged heart, which will require regular medication.  He is also nearly blind, and quite possibly even older than our most senior resident Max, so it's amazing he's lasted this long on the streets.

Frankie

He is now receiving his treatment, courtesy of many kind donors, and with the benefit of some good food, and the prospect of a comfortable home for the rest of his days, we hope he gets well enough leave us as soon as possible!

Frankie Adopted!

Frankie

Frankie was found with a bone stuck in his mouth, which the vet was able to remove.  He also had Anaplasma, a tick-born parasite that can be fatal if left untreated. After treating him, we brought Frankie back to the people who initially reported him to us. They had been feeding him for a while before reporting him to us.

We're so happy that Frankie will be able to live out his remaining days in a place that’s familiar to him! So long Frankie!  You can read more about Frankie on his profile here.
