Blanca

Blanca

Blanca passed away in the early hours of Sunday 12 December 2021.
Since her rescue in 2019, she had been suffering from Mast cell tumors which we had been treating via surgical removal. However it got to the point where they were recurring so quickly, surgery was no longer viable.

We finally managed to source Vinblastin - the only chemo drug available to treat it and we had already given her two sessions.  The tumors were shrinking significantly but her body clearly gave out - or her spirit did.  We are so saddened by this - she was a sweet, gentle but very shy girl.

Run free - pain free - Blanca. You will be greatly missed and we are so so sorry we were too late finding the chemo.  Read more about Blanca's life before and after rescue on her Profile Page.

Marta

Marta

After surviving so much, and having such a strong heart throughout, Marta caught a tick-borne disease called Erlichia.  It can be fatal in healthy dogs unless identified quickly, but to animals with immune systems under stress, like Marta, it is often too much.

On 4 December, some weeks after her successful amputation, she suddenly stopped eating, and became lethargic.  Despite this, we were hopeful as her spirit was undimmed - she still managed a little tail-waggle when she saw the staff.  She passed way quickly, just a couple of days later.  She knew love and companionship at the end.

Thank you to her sponsor also called Marta, who was sending messages of love every day and to everyone who sent her well wishes.  Rest in peace little one, you were very, very loved. Read more about Marta's life before and after rescue on her Profile Page.

Sensational Adoption Sunday!

Sensational Adoption Sunday!

Another wonderful adoption day at Robinsons Mall Dumaguete! Yesterday it was all about the puppies, but today THREE of our older rescues found new homes!

Siomai is a real character, and we couldn't be happier she has finally found a place to call home with Charlene and family.  She survived the distemper outbreak earlier this year, which sadly took her baby sister Gyoza from us.  Learn more about Siomai on her profile page here.

Olaf adopted

Only a matter of weeks ago, little Olaf had barely any fur on him, and was as weak as a kitten, but now he is fully clothed and full of life and love.  Thanks Mae Ann and family for taking him home!  You can read about Olaf's story on his profile page here.

Dawn adopted

Dawn was one of five puppies abandoned near the Sanctuary, and all four of her siblings already found their new homes.  She will be missed at the Sanctuary as she is such a happy, fun-loving little dog.  You can learn all about Dawn on her profile page here.  Thanks Michael and family for bringing her into your family.

Spectacular Adoption Saturday!

Spectacular Adoption Saturday!

Our second Saturday being hosted at Robinsons Mall Dumaguete has found homes for ALL OF KATRINA'S PUPPIES!

All were found homes with adopters who had been pre-approved, and it just remained for them to meet their new family member.  We didn't expected to have all of them adopted, so we hadn't got round to naming them.  That can be left up to their new humans!

We continue to be humbled by the public's support, and are so grateful to Robinsons Mall Dumaguete for their kind offer to host us each weekend up to Christmas.

Fingers crossed for more adoptions on Sunday - even if you aren't looking to add to your furry family, please come visit us from 10am to 4pm on the ground floor Robinsons Mall Dumaguete.

Awesome Adoption Sunday!

Awesome Adoption Sunday!

Our first weekend of outreach at Robinsons Mall has found homes for an incredible TEN DOGS in total!  We are overwhelmed by people's response and generosity, and are extremely grateful to Robinsons Mall Dumaguete for their kind offer to host us each weekend up to Christmas.  Adding to the three from yesterday, the lucky puppies to find new homes were Hera (the last of the 8 abandoned puppies from September), Cindy, Cherry, Cora (now named Cookie), Charlotte, and we are especially delighted that the adorable Otis and Bert, fostered by our Adoption Manager Estella and her husband Paul, have found their new homes too.

Cindy adopted by Rhenee Borja and family

Otis adopted by Elizabeth Dumaboc and family

Charlotte adopted by Ellora llamada and family

Cora renamed Cookie adopted by Liam Lumbania and family

Hera adopted by Lorna Banquerigo and family

Cherry adopted by Evangeline Caballero and family

Thankyou to all our adopters, benefactors, donors and supporters.  We will be back next weekend, and the next, up to Christmas, so please come visit from 10am to 4pm on the ground floor Robinsons Mall Dumaguete.
