Bridget

Bridget

During the worst time any of us can remember, we had a number of dogs die suddenly of an illness we were never able to identify. They suddenly became lethargic and unresponsive and died shortly after.

Bridget was such a sweet little soul. We rescued her from a tunnel where she had given birth to two puppies, Bett and Bram. Tragically, both of them died in the distemper outbreak we had in April this year. Bridget's sponsor, Liz, has bought a heart-shaped memorial stone with Bridget's picture on it – it will be placed in the ''Garden of Hope" at a Long Island, NY, pet cemetery, where Liz's beloved dog Chloe is buried.

Albie

Albie was a dog rescued in 2023, with a deep knife wound in his back.  Once we nursed him back to health, he had a happy and active life with us - frequently breaking out with his chums Phoenix, Bella and Brownie to explore the locality.  You can read more about him on his profile here.

Bonie RIP

Bonie was rescued on 12 September 2024, full of maggots and very sick.  It's not clear what eventually killed her, but she lasted just 24 hours with us.  It's heart-breaking whether we lose an animal in 24 hours or 24 months - all we can do is our best and hope they have enough fight left in them to pull through.  Sadly not the case for little Bonie. She passed quietly in her sleep on 13 September 2024.

Pen

Pen RIP

Pen RIP

Pen was rescued on 5 September 2024, and was due to be re-homed with his reporter.  He was in a very bad way, and he lasted just two days with us before giving up the fight.  Such a shame for a young dog with a future with a new home.  We're so sorry we couldn't help you Pen.

Cari and Carl

Cari and Carl

Cari RIP

Cari RIP

Cari and Carl were found together on the side of the road on 19 July 2024 by one of our staff members Adrian.  They were soaking wet from heavy rains, and both were infested with maggots.

We worked hard to warm them up and give them the best care, but they just didn't have the fight in them any more.  Carl passed away a few days later on 21 July, and Cari followed after hanging on for a month on 19 August.

We are so sorry we couldn't do more for them, but they were just too young to be abandoned like that.
