Every Life Matters
Shiver was found as an abandoned puppy near the diversion road in April 2021. She was shivering and has a damaged leg.
After a little rehabilitation at the Sanctuary, she started to become more active, and caught the eye of Anne and Earl who adopted her and renamed her Lady Bird. They also donated a sack of dog food. Thanks so much for adopting a DAS dog!
Ponso was found on the side of the road, very sick, covered in fleas and with big wounds on his side. Over days of care, he became more lively and inquisitive. He needed close care, and Bree and Josh agreed to foster him, but they have fallen in love with him and have decided to adopt him!!
He is already fitting in well to his new home, and has a big foster brother who seems very happy to have Ponso climb all over him! Check out the happy pictures in the Gallery below.
We have some fantastic news. Wrinkles has been adopted by Stella our adoption manager and her husband Paul. It's wonderful to look at the before and after pictures and see how much her life has changed.
She has gone from a life of neglect, emaciated and tied to a rusty chain, to a wonderful life, living next to the beach and having her own bed.
Stella and Paul will also get surgery to fix her eye problems so she will be able to see better and will stop having continuous runny mucus filled eyes.
Wrinkles will join Stella and Paul's other DAS rescues, Precioso, Faith, Love and Rosie.
Three puppies adopted in one morning! Richie and Roddy going to live with Valerie and Froilan, and Reggie is going to live with Marc and his daughter.

The fourth adoption today. Luckily Elbert and his family chose Juno, one of the puppies who just graduated from the puppy run.
Juno came to the shelter with her three siblings, Geri, Gabby and Juliet, all of whom have been adopted.
