Another "Foster Fail"!  Eureska and family agreed to take Marley into foster care until the Sanctuary is clear of the Distemper outbreak, but couldn't bear the thought of her leaving!  Marley was found on 30 June 2021 wandering alone - clearly dumped and left to be run over on a busy road.  She is now named Amber.     

Until the Distemper outbreak is over, maybe in the next couple of weeks, people agreeing to foster animals in distress that we can't take into the Sanctuary are a life-saver. If you can help, please get in touch with us.

Some wonderful news - Dodge has been adopted by Jezeree and her family, who originally befriended Dodge over a period of months in order to rescue him and get his neck wound treated.  Read more about Dodge's horrific injury, and recovery, on his Profile Page.

From Foster Home to Adoption in under a week!  Kiwi was one of three worm-ridden puppies dumped on the road and found on 19 June 2021. With the Sanctuary at capacity, and the lingering impact of the Distemper outbreak, it was not possible for them to be kept at the Sanctuary. Sam and Emma, two long-standing DAS supporters and foster parents agreed to take one puppy, and named her Kiwi.

Within a couple of days, she was quite settled in her foster home, but it wasn't to last, as Kimberley Guzman and family stepped in to give her a permanent home.  To find out more about Fostering at this difficult time where the Sanctuary is temporarily closed, please check out the Foster page or message us directly.

Adoption success story! A few weeks ago, Alix and Matty who have adopted 3 of our dogs, found a little puppy with bad mange and open sores. Because of the distemper outbreak at the Sanctuary we couldn't take him in so they decided to foster him and treat him at home. They called him biscuit!
When Eren messaged us looking for a puppy we couldn't let her take one of the Sanctuary pups as it was too risky for her other dog so we told her about Biscuit.  She fell in love with him from his pictures and adopted him on Saturday.

Jemima and Maggie Adopted!

During these dark days struggling with the Distemper outbreak, we celebrate the adoption of two of our recent rescue pups, Maggie and Jemima. Breaux travelled 5 hours all the way from Canlaon, and stayed in a hotel overnight before travelling back, all because she wanted to adopt rescued dogs instead of buying from a breeder or a pet shop locally.

There are so many rescue dogs that would make wonderful family pets, that we wish the world were full of more people like Breaux!
