Every Life Matters
What a great week of adoptions! First Azure found a new home with Iker and his family. Then Irah and family adopted Farley, and finally Cristina adopted Kori, to join Liam who was adopted last year.
What a wonderful few days we have had!!
8 more adoptions! 1 adult cat, 2 kittens and five puppies. Plus Jannah and Mina who came all the way to drop off adoptions.
Mercy and her family adopted the cats Bella, Gray, and Callie.
April was adopted by Dagny and family
VI and Violet were adopted by Steve and family
Strawberry and Short were adopted by Angelica and family.
All adopters were screened and we will of course follow up.
Thank you to everyone who adopts from us, you are making the world a better place!
All your donations go directly to provide the rescue, rehabilitation and continuing care of dogs and cats suffering on the streets here in Dumaguete. Without your continued support, dogs like Ernie here would have died alone, scared and in pain, with no one even knowing.
Ernie was rescued from drowning in a canal after he had stumbled in and couldn't get out. A passerby pulled him out, covered him with a sack and called us straight away. He's very old, almost totally blind and had a completely mangled back leg. Its likely he had been hit by a car and fell into the canal by the side of the road.
We brought him to the Sanctuary, gave him the treatment he needed to recover and found a foster for him - Eren - who has adopted 2 DAS dogs already. Ernie absolutely thrived in Eren's home and so she officially adopted him.
Please consider adopting a senior dog - they don't need a lot of exercise - just a couple of short walks a day, a comfy bed, good food and lots of love. Please contact us if you can make room in your home for an old dog in his / her remaining years.
We are thrilled to announce another adoption. One of our older puppies, Elena, was adopted yesterday by Kenneth and Keshia.
Elena was one of a litter dumped outside during the Distemper outbreak and was fostered by our staff member Gemma, to keep her same from contracting distemper.
We brought her back to the Sanctuary once the Distemper had passed.
She is now nearly 5 months old - at an age where puppies are rarely adopted so we are so grateful to Kenneth and Keshia for choosing her.
We have so many wonderful dogs and puppies that need homes. We need more adoptions so that we can continue to rescue more poor souls from the street.
Please consider adopting a dog from us - you will be helping to make such a difference
One more adult dog adoption!!! It's such a wonderful feeling to see one of our adult dogs finally leave the shelter and find a home of their own. This is Rosco. He was rescued back in 2021 as a puppy - another victim of a hit and run.
We brought him back to the Sanctuary and after a few days he started to walk again - no bones were broken. Rosco has always been one of the more confident, sociable dogs at the shelter - welcoming visitors - yet no one ever chose him.
Arjun one of our vet assistants had a really good bond with him, but having four dogs already at home, he was reluctant to adopt another.
That was until we took Rosco to the ECE Bazaar a couple of weeks ago and people were showing interest in adopting him. One of our staff messaged him and he was down like a shot and too Rosco home immediately!!
Rosco is now enjoying living next to the sea with a huge garden to run around.
Thanks Arjun - you finally came to your senses! We are so happy for you Rosco
