Lugaw
Lugaw (which is a type of Filipino breakfast porridge!) was reported on 7 January 2024 in the Escano area of Dumaguete City. She was in poor condition generally, but the worst of her problems was the severe neck wound probably caused by a chain or collar that was on too tight, possibly since she was a puppy.
We have had a number of rescues over the years with similar thoughtless wounds, but the prognosis is good, as once the wound is cleaned, and the risk of infection is kept under control, the skin and fur often grows back, as can be seen with Alix. On 31 January 2024, she was returned to the people who agreed to adopt her, who will make sure she never has to be chained again.
