Cersei adopted again!

Cersei Adopted Again!

Cersei

Cersei

We have some amazing news! Cersei is finally home.  We rescued Cersei back in March 2024. She had been dumped on the side of the road by her owners, who left the area, according to locals who knew the family. No one would or could give us names to follow up.  She had taken refuge in a workers' hut on a construction site.

When we brought her to the Sanctuary, we discovered she had pyometra, a life-threatening condition of her womb. We did an immediate spay to resolve that.

Cersei was adopted in June to a lovely family, but she turned out to have issues that the family could not deal with, despite trying for a long time.

We always do the absolute best we can for all our rescues, so we paid for Cersei to undergo 3 months of training and rehabilitation with Crystal Wakeman, our preferred dog trainer.

It's not easy to find homes for dogs with a breed, as many people want them as a status symbol. Finally, we found the right home for Cersei with Elizabeth.

Elizabeth adopted Angela from us previously, and on October 13th, Cersei went to live in her wonderful home with a huge garden and swimming pool.

There have been some issues, but Elizabeth has dealt with them, and Cersei is now living her best life.

You can see Cersei's profile file page here.

We always follow up on adoptions as we want to ensure our adoptees are happy and well looked after. However, some adoptions just don't work out for a variety of reasons..
Cersei the German shepherd was adopted a few weeks ago and I can honestly say the adopters worked so hard to help her adjust but one of their dogs just wouldn't accept Cersei and she ended up fighting a lot. It became too much to deal with for the adopters so they reluctantly asked us to bring Cersei back.
She's not an aggressive dog but will fight back and she also has separation anxiety.
We decided to send her to Crystal for boarding and assessment. She will stay there for at least a month so we can get a better idea of what her issues are, if any, and put her through rehab and behavioural training.
These are added expenses that we can't foresee when we first rescue a dog.
We will advertise Cersei for adoption when she has finished her training, likely in 2 months time. Please don't message us asking to adopt her as we will not consider adoption at this time.

Cersei adopted!

Cersei Adopted!

We have some great news! Cersei has found her forever home!
Cersei was an abandoned dog - her owners apparently left her out on the street when they moved out of the area. She was first spotted just sitting on the side of a busy highway and taking shelter in a construction site.  You can read all about her on her profile page here.

As is common with recognisable breeds like Cersei, we had a many requests for adoption, despite her being spayed and unable to breed from.  We finally chose what we hope will the best home for her.
Her new owners have done so much to make sure she integrated well with their other dogs and now she has adjusted.
We are so happy for you Cersei!
