WARNING - SAMSON'S CRANIAL TUMOR WAS PARTICULARLY DISTRESSING, SO PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR SOME DISTURBING IMAGES IF YOU SCROLL FURTHER.
Samson's Story
Rescued on 26 May 2022, we were not sure what cancer he had and took him for x-rays at Animal Wellness. We were worried that he would be a candidate for euthanasia if the tumors had invaded too much of his mouth, nasal cavity and skull as was the case with Rocky.
However, Doc Gama confirmed the tumor had not infiltrated the bones, which was good news as with chemotherapy, there was a good chance we could cure him. His blood tests showed he was severely anaemic as his blood was going directly to feed the tumor. His blood count was low so we could not start chemo straight away.
Samson was not eating on his own so we had to build up his strength via IV fluids.
In time, he regained his strength enough to face chemotherapy. The change in him now is so dramatic, we are even more positive than before that even the worst cases of cancerous tumor stand a chance of being defeated if caught in time, and with the proper medication, provided by our wonderful sponsors and donors. He is back to his handsome, happy self, and loves cuddles and going for walks. Such a turnaround for a dog who had all but given up on life. All we need now is for a loving family to take him into their home.
