Rubor's Story
Rubor was captured in the grounds of a local college, and confined to a small dirty cage with her nine new-born puppies. Students contacted us asking for assistance, but funds were extremely tight and we asked them to raise P10,000 (around $200) to contribute to the cost of rescue, treatment (Rubor had TVT) and ongoing living expenses while we treat them and try to find new homes.

We require the help of the community to rescue dogs, as once a dog comes in, donations for that dog tend to stop yet we have to provide for them probably for their whole life.
The students managed to raise the funds, and we bought the family into the Sanctuary on 14 December 2021. She had a growth on her vagina which was Transmissible Venereal Cancer (TVT), but with treatment she made a full recovery. The students named her Rubor.
Her surviving puppies Bart, Blondie, Ben, Blair, Bianca, Blush and Bob were all quickly adopted, and now Rubor lives a quiet life in the Sanctuary, preferring her own company and a few of her favourite staff.
