Lizzie's Story
Reported by Rudylyn, one of our vet assistants, Lizzie was rescued from the Bacong-Valencia highway following a hit-and-run. A group of people were standing watching the dog and no one even tried to get the dog into a safe place. As Rudylyn was trying to get the dog out of the middle of the road cars were beeping at her to move out of the way.
With our vet Doc Pierre on leave, Rina and our vet assistants administered first aid and oxygen, ran blood tests, provided pain medication, antibiotics and stitched her wounds. Initial blood test results didn't indicate internal bleeding but she was coughing up blood so we worried she might have a punctured lung. So we took her for x-rays, and discovered that her pelvis was fractured but that it would heal on its own in a few weeks. Her internal organs had been affected by the vehicular impact and one lung was congested.

Lizzie's xray
She is the sweetest girl. She was so brave throughout all her procedures and never tried to resist. And it paid off - she's completely recovered and very healthy indeed!
