Gordon
In March 2024, under our "Adopt a Stray" programme, we rescued
an old dog full of mange and barely eating. We called him Gordon.
He was to return to his reporters, but we discovered the conditions he was to be kept in were not in line with our mission - no chain, no cage, not ever - so he is now patiently waiting for probably the last home of his long life.
Gordon's Story
With his mange treated, he put on some weight, and spent his days under a bench snoozing or responding to pets from time to time, waiting for that moment when he could be sent to his new home.
Sadly, we were to learn that his potential adopters intended to keep him in a cage, or on a chain, which is completely against our mission to home all our rescues in humane and comfortable conditions. We simply will not put an animal back in harm's way. For this reason, Gordon is still at the Sanctuary, snoozing underneath benches. All we ask for what little time he has left is a respectful existence with a home to call his own - not behind bars or chained-up. If you can offer Gordon a suitable home in his twilight years, please get in touch. We have so many deserving Seniors who just need a quiet home and a loving touch to see them to the end.
