COLE

Cole

In September 2024, we rescued an adult dog in Dumaguete who couldn't walk, and who had crawled off into a drainage ditch. We called him Cole.

Cole's Story

On 15 September 2024, Cole was rescued from a drainage ditch he crawled into.  He was very thin, covered in fleas, couldn't walk for himself, and was crying in pain.

We went to get him, and he was very aggressive. He bit Reymart's glove and finger inside and would not let go for a good five minutes.

We initially suspected rabies as its always a concern here but later, once he was in a comfortable bed and had food he was so much calmer.  We took him for x-rays, expecting a spinal fracture, but nothing showed up.

He began to regain his appetite, and we are hoping his mobility will return with his strength.  He still has some fight left in him!
