In May 2024, we took in a poor dog kept in a cage for months on end. Make no mistake, there is no good reason to cage a dog. He is such a sweet boy, and one of our regular supporters stepped up to adopt him - a perfect match as they will take proper care of him, and once he's ready, he'll never be locked in a cage again.

Ezo's Story
On 27 May 2024, we rescued a large breed dog from a cage on a property, where it's estimated by the reporters he had no been allowed out from over 6 months.
Caging a dog for reasons other than temporary medical confinement or transportation is cruel and the dogs suffer no end.
It is not acceptable, as some would have it that if you don't have financial means to build a fence, you can cage in good conscience. Just don't get the animal in the first place.

We called this dog Enzo. He hadn't left this rusty dilapidated cage in 6 months!!! He was very stressed and very confused and will need quite a bit of rehabilitation and decompression. At least now he is free. And we already have the perfect adopters lined up. His life will begin again, free of the tyranny of a prison cell.
