In October 2023, we had reports of a very skinny, mange-covered puppy with what look like burns on his back. We called him Blaze, and he's such a lovely little fighter now (in a good way!)

Blaze's Story
On 12 October 2023, one of our supporters Nico, who had adopted from us before, bought in a small, starving puppy, with very bad burns on his back. He was flea-ridden, and had other suspicious holes on his back, and we can only guess the torment this little guy was put through by some heartless people.
Blaze when rescued
We took him in, treated his cuts and burns, got rid of the fleas, and began to feed him up properly. He started to put on weight and gain strength, and we could see his character developing - becoming more trusting and friendly with each passing day. He's a happy little soul, and may not get much bigger than he is now. It's possible he has some small-dog genes in him, maybe Chihuahua?

His scarring is vanishing, although he's likely to carry a sad memento of his earlier suffering with a little puckered skin on his back, but a poignant tribute to his character as a survivor. He surely deserves to find a safe home to call his own?
