RHODA

Rhoda

Rhoda when rescued

After being hit by a car, she was left dazed but apparently unhurt in the middle of the road on 13 July 2021 where she was rescued from further harm.

She seems well-fed, so we are hopeful an owner will step forward to reclaim her.

Rhoda's Story

Rhoda was picked up from the middle of the Bacong-Valencia highway by Kate and Paolo of ECE - Dumaguete.
She had been hit by a car and just left there. If they hadn't picked her up she would have been squashed.

Rhoda when rescued

We worried that she had internal bleeding but seeing as she has survived more than 24 hours, it's unlikely.  We are now observing for signs of head trauma.  She is now trying to stand up which is a good sign.  She is now on IV with Tramadol for pain, Tolfine for inflammation and antibiotics.  She is still in shock at the moment, but hopefully will start to become more alert. She is in really good condition and looks well fed so we think she has an owner.

Rhoda

We're sorry to report that Rhoda didn't make it. Her injuries from the impact of the hit and run damaged her kidneys beyond repair. Doc Pierre tried so hard to save her.  Thanks also Kate and Paolo for picking her up from the middle of the road and bringing her here.
We are sorry Rhoda that you had to suffer so much.  You can read more about Rhoda's story on her
Profile Page.
