ALBIE

Albie

In October 2023, we rescued a dog who had been hacked with a knife.  He was otherwise healthy, and with his wound healing well, he is surprisingly still trusting of humans.  We called him Albie.

WARNING - ALBIE'S WOUNDS WERE SEVERE, SO PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR SOME DISTURBING IMAGES IF YOU SCROLL FURTHER.

Albie's Story

On 14 October 2023, we received reports of a dog with a severe cut on his back.  He was known to hang around near some fish stalls, and in all likelihood received the injury from an irate stall holder whose temper snapped and lashed out at him with a knife.  We of course have no proof of this, but the cut is so clean, it can only have been caused by a blade.

Apart from this he was healthy, and so is a candidate to receive treatment, and when the wound is healed, be released (having been sterilised and vaccinated of course.)  However, the last thing we want for him is to be injured again, as he would most likely return to his "home" near the fish sellers, so we decided it would be best to keep him  at the Sanctuary and hope to rehome him in time.

He loves being outside the Sanctuary, and is sometimes difficult to get back inside the gate, so he may well follow some of our other "external residents" like Princess and Jason, who prefer life just outside the gates!

Albie During the worst time any of us can remember, we had a number of dogs die suddenly of an illness we were never able to identify. They suddenly became lethargic and unresponsive and died shortly after. AlbieAlbie was a dog rescued in 2023, with a deep knife wound in his back.  Once we nursed him Click to see post….
