Maggy's Story
On 27 January 2025, we picked up hit and run victim, unable to move. Thank you to the people who stayed with her and kept her safe until we came.
She has a fractured back leg, which we initially put in a cast, but she also had TVT - Transmissible Venereal Tumor, a form of cancer that is common here and contagious through contact.
Maggy when rescued
We could not bring her to the Sanctuary because of the ongoing Distemper outbreak, so she was transferred to the Vet's House, which while not ideal with 9 other dogs, is safer for her in here weakened and anaemic state. Unfortunately, her fracture was not healing with the cast, so we removed it, and are now concentrating on building up her strength to prepare for an amputation, followed by chemotherapy for the TVT.
