LIBBY

Libby

In December 2024, we received reports of a dog with her jaws taped firmly shut.  We cannot conceive of the kind of person who would choose to inflict such a prolonged death on an animal.  Despite being located far away in  Tanjay, we bought her in and started her off on her journey back to health.  We called her Libby.

WARNING - LIBBY'S WOUNDS WERE SEVERE, SO PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR SOME DISTURBING IMAGES IF YOU SCROLL FURTHER.

Libby's Story

On 8 December 2024, we received multiple reports of a stray dog with her jaws taped shut, in a location more than an hour's drive from the Sanctuary.  With the help of locals who located her and contained her until we arrived, we managed to bring her in.

She was extremely dehydrated as you can imagine since she couldn't drink or eat.  All the tissues around her snout and jaw had rotted, indicating that she had that tape on for at least three to four days.

We cannot bear to think how afraid she was and how she has suffered, but we were determined to do our best to heal her.   We have had the most amazing results in the past with such deep wounds - for example Nick, whose wounds were worse.

Despite the cruelty she endured, she was very friendly and fighting to live.  After a few days, she could
eat and drink soft foods like Aozi on her own, and new tissue began to grow back.
We are still uncertain of her future, but we will fight alongside her.
Thank you to everyone who donated for her and to the kind donor who gave money for her manuka honey, which we use to heal her wounds

If you would like to be part of her journey to a new life, a small donation will go a long way to help her.

Donations page for more details.
