In November 2024, we received a report of a very emaciated old dog with not long left on the streets. We called him Leroy.

Leroy's Story
On 17 November 2024, we rescued Leroy, an old starving dog that was seen on recent charity event, organised by local students and attended by over 200 people, in support of DAS.
During the event, a stray dog was filmed and posted on social media. We were messaged and tagged, and when we saw he was a senior dog, we made a post trying to locate him, and also trying to raise awareness of the plight of the thousands of strays here.
The sad reality here is that there are thousands of strays. Most people already have a lot of dogs and we are way, way over capacity and do the best we can.
We found the dog posted in the video. He's very old, and had we left him, he would have been dead in days.
