JODIE

Jodie

Jodie was a stray that was being fed by a local dog lover disappeared for a few months, and then reappeared in a terrible state. She managed to pull through, but was quite nervous of people after her rescue.  We hope there's a patient home out there for her.

Jodie's Story

On 3 September 2022, a local dog lover bought Jodie to us in a carboard box, hoping we could help her back to health. She was very anaemic, had a bad case of mange, and needed strong antibiotics to help fight the infections she had.  Luckily tests showed her internal organs were satisfactory.

Her rescuer wanted to adopt her when she regained her strength, which was wonderful news.  Sadly, the potential rescuers' other rescue dogs were showing signs of Distemper, and agreed that the best thing for Jodie was to keep her at the Sanctuary for the time being, hoping for alternative arrangements to develop.  She has formed close bonds with a few of the Sanctuary dogs, and was very nervous around people, so for now, we didn't think it is best she stays with us, until something appropriate comes along.
