Fury
Fury was initially rescued by an Animal Welfare Volunteer group called CARE.
She was brought in because she was one of a group of dogs that had been caught on the street to be fed to the crocodiles at a local zoo around 2017 - this practice has since been stopped.
She is a very good tempered dog, who loves her belly being tickled!

Fury was originally rescued in 2017, from a cage for keeping strays who were to be fed to crocodiles at a local zoo.

Fury came to DAS in July 2019, with two young puppies she had given birth to at the CARE Shelter – Suki and Womble - but unfortunately Womble died from Parvo after a couple of weeks, and Suki died of Erlichia and Anaplasmosis in 2021.
Fury is a founding member of "The Unsociables" - so named as they vigorously defend their territory from all invaders! The are actually very sociable towards humans though!

We made some significant progress with Fury this month – we leash trained her! it is actually the first time she has left the shelter since July 2019. Up until recently we just didn’t have the staff available to start walking the dogs but since our volunteers switched form cleaning to walking the dogs – Click to see post….

Fury has been practising her opera singing ths month and driving us all mad!

Fury has been a very good girl all month. She has eaten all her food, and most of everyone else’s, which is why she’s is getting a little chubby. The volunteers are trying to get her to exercise a little, but it doesn’t seem to be working!
