Edith
Edith was a rescue from the pound in February 2020.
She was quite unsociable for the first few months but slowly began to mix with others. She is never found far from her best friend, Ding, our Caretaker!

Edith's Story
Edith was a pound rescue in Feb 2020. She was in a cage with Alice and very distressed.

They were named after two old aunties of Christine's who lived together and raised her until she was five! They were wonderful people.
We think that Edith had recently given birth when she was picked up by the pound as she was howling in the cage and had full breasts. No doubt she was desperate to get to her puppies. We have no idea where the pound picked her up from – they don’t tell us locations.

She was actually not in a really bad condition when we rescued her so she may have had an owner. But she was very unsociable when we first brought her in.
This is her in an old cage in the quarantine area the day we brought her in, with Alice in the back.
Once the dogs were let out of quarantine she formed a mini pack with Alice and another Pound rescue called Bruce.
They stayed away from all the other dogs and us for a few months then slowly migrated to the kitchen area – and have never left

Initially, Edith would growl or bark if you went near her – now she is super friendly. She stays in a big crate (never locked) outside the Caretakers room with Alice.
She is a beautiful looking dog but is not too keen on strangers so never gets attention from volunteers or potential adopters. She would take a while to adjust if she did get adopted as she is so closely bonded with Alice. She can be cheeky though....her favourite time is staff lunch time - Here she is staring at my lunch!

EdithEdith has had a good month this month except we took the crate away that she and Alice used to stay in as we are trying to make more space around the caretakers room.She still stays inside their area but now sleeps on a mat on the floor.She has had no health problems this month Click to see post….
