In August 2023 we rescued an old dog unable to move after being hit by a vehicle. She had been left there for days and ignored.
Despite her age, with exercise in our hydrotherapy pool, she regained her ability to walk, and is now set to enjoy her twilight years being cared for by a loving family. Maybe you have room for a quiet old soul like Bessie?

Bessie's Story
On 17 August 2023, we rescued an old dog that had been lying beside the road for a week after being hit by a vehicle. She wasn’t able to move because of a spinal fracture, yet people were trying to shoo her away by hitting her with a broom. It’s truly heart-breaking.

If you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them. It costs nothing to show some kindness and compassion to a suffering animal.
After we rescued Bessie, we started doing hydrotherapy with her. We were over the moon when she started to move her back legs a little! Slowly, she regained her strength and started to walk again. Two months later - she is fully mobile!
Bessie is an old lady; she has almost no teeth left! Despite everything that happened to her, she is so sweet and gentle. We’re hoping to find Bessie a home where she can live out her twilight years in peace. She doesn’t need much: a warm bed, full belly, and of course a whole lot of love. An occasional belly rub will also be much appreciated!
