Ace

We picked up Ace on 2nd February 2021 from the car park of the local Ace Hospital in Dumaguete after a report made by a member of the public.

He was tiny, malnourished

and a bit scabby, but has now developed into such a sweet and handsome boy!

Ace's Story

Ace was found sick and weak outside the local Dumaguete Ace Hospital.  When we brought him in we treated him for mange and worms and also gave him his first five-in-one shot.

Ace and Rudylin

He spent time in the puppy run with the other puppies to provide some additional protection from any possible diseases being passed on from the older dogs.  Our biggest concern for all new puppies is Parvo, which can be life-threatening to younger, weaker animals.

Ace's blood tests showing he was anaemic

His low platelet count and low red blood cell count showed he was Anemic so we gave him antibiotics and also vitamin supplements.

He soon recovered, and despite all this he is still very active and playful and will make a wonderful addition for the right family.  He loves being taken on walks, and is happy to be on the leash, and even happier to be off it (he always comes back!!!)

Jonathan’s TribeAs well as great physical and mental exercise (for the walkers too!), taking dogs out on the lead outside the Sanctuary gets our rescues better prepared for that new life when they get adopted. Some dogs don’t need leads, and walk with us wherever we go. This is Jonathan’s tribe – every Wednesday he Click to see post….

Ace has been out doing some lead (leash) training with some of our volunteers.  Being a young dog, he is at the perfect age to get him used to a collar and lead.  We sometimes use an expanding lead to allow dogs room to explore and exercise, but this lead still allows some close control Click to see post….
