Rescued on 8 August 2021, Brown had a severe case of TVT, a form of cancer common in stray dogs. The treatment is expensive, but hopefully will allow him to live a more fulfilling life. Following treatment, we hope he will find a home with his rescuer, Stephanie.
Brown's Story
One of our volunteers Stephanie, had been feeding a dog that had been abandoned by its owner. Then suddenly, last November it disappeared.
She feared the worst and assumed it had died.
Then yesterday, her sister saw the dog in Valencia so immediately picked it up and took it home.

The poor dog has a severe case of TVT, a form of cancer that a lot of strays here get as it is contagious.
You can see the lesions all over his body. His penis also has a large growth.
This dog would suffer a long agonising deterioration until the cancer killed him.

Fortunately it is treatable with chemotherapy but it can be expensive.
Stephanie will adopt the dog after treatment which is great as we are always hovering around our capacity, physically and financially.
Due to the generosity of our donors responding to an online fund raiser, we managed to purchase enough L-asparaginase chemotherapy drug for Blake, Brown, and another dog rescued as a result, Beth.

Super Saturday adoption number two of four!
Brown was abandoned on the street by a neighbour of Stephanie, so she fed him regularly until he disappeared for six months. When he returned, he had contracted cancer and would have died a long and agonising death had Stephanie not agreed to raise funds for his treatment, and adopt him when he was better.

We are delighted to say that following surgery, and a course of chemotherapy, Brown is well enough for Stephanie to bring him back home. Such an excellent way to end a story of abandonment and a welcome boost to us to know that there are people out there willing to support these seemingly impossible recoveries.
