AVERY

Avery

In November 2023, we found a young dog running around with wire wrapped around her neck.  With no obvious owner, we took her in and called her Avery.  She was initially very timid, but is now warming up to us, especially when out on a lead for walkies!

Avery's Story

On 24 November 2023, we were out on our rounds of the area around the Sanctuary, vaccinating strays, when we came across a young dog running about the place with a wire tied round her neck, as if it were a leash.  She was in a very poor condition, and had no obvious owner.

We took her in, removed the wire, and cleaned her up.  Other than being very thin, she had no other obvious issues, and we are happy to see that in just a few short weeks, she is putting on weight, and responding well to us.

We are hopeful she will continue to thrive and soon be well enough for neutering, and therefore ready for the next step in her life - to find a loving home!
