NEW SHELTER CAMPAIGN

Our New Sanctuary Campaign

We did it!  Thanks to your support, and a very generous donation and loan from some wonderful donors, we raised the 180,000 USD, to purchase our land for the NEW, BIGGER, BETTER SANCTUARY!

Construction of the first buildings that will house our current Sanctuary inhabitants has begun, and we are still actively raising funds to complete this phase as quickly as we can!

Watch our short movie to find out what this means for us, and what will happen next!

Why We Need A New Sanctuary

At Dumaguete Animal Sanctuary, we rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome hundreds of dogs and cats every year, but our current rented sanctuary is bursting at the seams. We are heartbroken to turn away animals in desperate need every day due to a lack of space. Being critically overcrowded also brings its own challenges in controlling infectious diseases and providing care to special-needs animals.

Fluffy when rescued

We found the perfect 2.8-hectare (7-acre) property in Zamboanguita, near our current location, where we can not only expand, but also set up new initiatives to transform animal welfare in our community. With your help, we can provide a safe, permanent home for our even more rescues, giving them the space they need to thrive.

Our vision for the new sanctuary

  • Space for 500 additional dogs and cats: no more turning away animals due to lack of space.
  • Free clinic with volunteer overseas vets: providing essential medical care to rescues.
  • Rehabilitation Center: specialized care for injured and traumatized animals.
  • Special Needs Home: a dedicated area for animals with special needs, for example, dogs in wheelchairs.
  • Senior Suites: comfortable, quiet, and loving environments for our senior rescues.
  • Aggressive dog rehabilitation: Helping dogs with behavioural issues find their forever homes.
  • Isolation area for distemper cases: preventing the spread of contagious diseases.
  • Teaching hospital for trainee vets: training the next generation of veterinary professionals.
  • Education Center: promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.
  • Pet crematorium and memorial garden: offering dignified farewells for beloved pets.
  • Agility course and dog training classes: improving the physical and mental well-being of our animals.
  • Cat Cafe: creating a unique adoption experience for cat lovers.
  • Airbnb for tourists: Welcoming animal lovers from around the world to stay and support our mission.
