DELFIN

Delfin

Delfin was not "rescued" in the accepted way - he was one of a litter of four pups born to a true rescue, Love, in May 2019.

Despite his size, he is a gentle, loving character, and is inseparable from his surviving sister, Tin Tin, although they look nothing alike!

Delfin

Delfin's Story

Delfin's mother, Love, was rescued in February 2019 by a Spanish tourist called Martika from Siquijor. She was a puppy at the time – around 2- 3 months we think  - and was full of mange and would not have lasted much longer.  Just as Martika left, a lady called Marifel stepped up to foster Love until she was less contagious with Mange and the Sanctuary could accept her.

Delfin and Love

Unfortunately, while in foster care, Love got pregnant and gave birth to four puppies in May 2019 – Delfin, Tin Tin, Jorie and Inin.
We brought them to the Sanctuary when they were around four weeks old.

These were the first puppies we had at the shelter and the caretakers fell in love with them and didn’t want them adopted so we never advertised them for adoption.

Delfin TinTin and Jorin

Sadly, Inin died aged 4 months from a genetic problem, and Jorin was put to sleep as she was unable to recover from an outbreak of Distemper at the Sanctuary in October 2019.  Delfin was outside the whole time – looking directly at us as we put her to sleep. He knew what was happening. It was so so sad to see him.

Delfin's mother, Love

Love got adopted by Stella our adoption manager in December 2019.
Here she is now – such a beauty.

We would never separate Delfin and Tin Tin as they are still very close. They are the undisputed king and queen of DAS!

Lauren ReturnsSome days we encounter situations where we have no words.  Today was one of those days.  As you know, we try as hard as possible to encourage responsible pet ownership, and do our very best to screen adopters. We literally turn down about 80 percent of people that apply. But we are not psychic Click to see post….
