Alice Update March 2021

Alice has become even more sociable this month and is spending time outside of the kitchen area with other dogs. We think it is because we removed the big kennel in the kitchen area that she used to stay in all the time.

We started trying to walk her on the leash but she just lies down, rolls on her back and refuses to move!  We are going to continue trying to leash train her this coming month as she needs more exercise as she is becoming very chubby.

She has had no illness or any other issues at all this month.
Here's a short clip of her being bathed today.

Brave Update March 2021

Brave is one of the healthiest dogs in the shelter. He never seems to get sick.

Jonthan one of our volunteers is patiently working to get him more sociable and the other day he started touching my fingers with his nose!

We never bathe him as it is too traumatic for him yet he has amazingly healthy shiny fur. He is happy and healthy in his "Unsociables" pack.

There are distinct packs at the Sanctuary, with only a few dominant dogs like Delfin and TinTin allowed to move anywhere they like. Brave never ventures out of his territory, but he defends it with a passion!

Ella Update March 2021

Ella is such a sweetheart, she really needs to find a new home.

She is happy and plays a lot more now .  We have more volunteers who spend more time playing with the dogs than before, and maybe this has made a difference. We are going to start her on leash training this month.
She has had a good month healthwise - no injuries or illness.

She is actually pretty healthy and doesn't seem to get the common illnesses and skin conditions the others can get.

Here's a short clip of her having a bath today.

Maisy Update March 2021

Maisy has had a good month healthwise - no illnesses or skin problems at all.

However, she seems to have broken up with Archie as she doesn't spend as much time with him anymore and they don't sleep in the kennel together.

She plays a lot with Indy and her two sisters again. She loves playing! We will start leash training her this month.  We'd like all dogs to go on a walk outside at least once a week to get them used to walking on the leash.

Here's a short clip of her relaxing in the sunshine this month.

Wena Update March 2021

Wena has become a lot more sociable this month and is playing a lot with the other dogs, but mainly old Bruno!

She has had no problems with her health at all - she rarely does and her skin has had no issues at all. Some of the dogs get fungal infections that cause discoloration of their fur but Wena must have a good immune system.

We plan to start leash training her but we really need more volunteers. We have only just started leash training since our volunteers changed from cleaning to dog walking so I will put Wena on the list for next month.

Here's a short clip of Wena checking out Jake as he has just been let out of Quarantine.
