Franze Adopted!

Franze Adopted!

Franze has been adopted!   He is the very old dog who had a huge tumor hanging from his neck. We initially thought he was a stray but after rescuing him, we found out he had an owner who couldn't afford the treatment. Plus Franze lived in a very rural area around 40km from the nearest vet.
We were going to keep Franze at the shelter but like many old dogs, he spent all his time pacing up and down the fence trying to get out.
It's only a matter of time before dogs who do this, escape.
We decided he would be safer and much happier back in the place where he spent all of his life, so we asked if anyone who knew him would take care of him.

A lady called Sheila, from Franze's village messaged us and offered to adopt him. She already knows him and he was really happy to see her.  We're sure you will be much happier now Franz!  We will keep in touch with Sheila and help out with any further health issues.

We have some wonderful news to get the week started, Star's been adopted!   Star was rescued September 24th and is another one of our dogs who made a miraculous recovery in no time at all.
Thank you Karen and Richard for adopting one of our adult dogs, we could not be more thrilled! They've decided to rename her Saki!

A Wonderful Adoption Weekend!

Our final weekend of campaigning before Christmas at Robinsons Mall Dumaguete resulted in some wonderful donations of cash and goods, and happy adoptions for TEN PUPPIES!

6 puppies - Tara, Tess, Ronnie, Steve, Terry and Torben - all found a family to call their own on Saturday 18 December 2021.

Ava Adopted

Adoptions Sid and Simon

4 more puppies - Ava, Liam, Sid and Simon are also going to spend their first Christmas in a new home.  They were adopted on Sunday 19 December 2021.

We also received over 15,000 pesos in cash donations, nearly 25,000 pesos in merchandise sales, and we also got so many gifts - dog and cat food, laundry detergent, rice, bleach, treats and so much more.

Sara Adopted!

Sara Adopted!

We had another great adoption today - Sara. We have had Sara since she was a puppy and while she is friendly to shelter staff she is very nervous of strangers.  She has become more sociable since Corri, Jonathan and Pati have spent a lot of time walking her and playing with her, but because she runs away from visitors she was unlikely to ever be adopted from the Sanctuary.

She needed a very special family who would understand what she would need to come out of her shell.  And today at Robinsons Mall she found those people.  Janryl and her partner have a rescue that they adopted from the Cebu pound and are super aware of how long it could take Sara to trust and they are more than willing to take the time.   Thanks so much for choosing Sara.  Thanks @robplacedumaguete for enabling this to happen.  You can see Sara's whole story on he profile page here.
