Queen

Queen

Our Adopt a Stray program is starting to help a lot more dogs and cats that otherwise wouldn't survive. Queen and Venus are two that were in our program and are now going home with their new families.
Thank you Leiana and Chris for adopting Queen.

Jack adopted!

Jack Adopted!

Adoptions often cause us mixed feelings, especially with older dogs as we have loved and cared for them for so long, we feel like we are abandoning them.
Many have become so attached to staff that we worry they will not adjust.
For this reason we ONLY let adult dogs go if we are sure they will have a better life than they get at the shelter, and if they can bond with their new owners.
We rescued Jack on July 27th 2021, almost 3 years to the day.
He was found by one of our supporters, lying on the side of the road having seizures. Likely he'd been hit by a car.
One of his front legs had to be amputated.

Honey

Honey

He never really bonded with other dogs until we rescued honey, and the two were inseparable after that.
Olga who adopted honey, decided to adopt Jack last week. Honey is a little aloof with him at the moment but he immediately bonded with Olga and settled in, following her around everywhere.
Thank you Olga, Noel and Abby for all that you do to help us out and give our rescues a wonderful home.

In July 2024, under our Adopt a Stray programme, we rescued little Divy, who was very weak and malnourished.  With lots of food and love, Divy made a full recovery and was rehomed with his reporter.

Brooks – Adopt a Stray

In July 2024, under our Adopt a Stray programme, we rescued Brooks, a stray who was being fed by the reporter in Siaton, a few miles away.

It's unclear what happened, but one day Brooks turned up with a massive headwound.  We took him in for treatment and rehabilitation, and he's now been rehomed with his reporters in Siaton.
