Jane adopted!

We have some amazing news! Another of our rescues is going to live overseas - this time in Italy!!
A lovely lady came to visit us to choose a dog to take with her when she returns home to Italy in June. Her name is Elisa and she has been volunteering at the orphanage.  She chose Jane.

This will bring us to a total of 10 dogs living overseas.
- Matty, Ophelia and River in the US

- Judy and Teresa in the UK
- Heffa in Sweden
- Tula and Olaf in Belgium
- Rusty in Canada.

Its not too difficult to take a dog overseas:

1. First get a rabies booster shot and microchip

2. 29 days later you take a blood sample and send to a lab in US ( facilitated by Animal Wellness vet clinic here in Dumaguete) - this costs 23000 pesos ( just over 400 USD)

3. Complete the paper work and find a pet friendly  airline. The dog has to travel in the hold but the cost is usually just excess baggage if you or another person accompanies the dog.

Our wishlist for 2024 includes having a lot more overseas adoptions.

Good luck Jane and thanks so much Elisa for making such a great effort to help our rescues.

We also received 15660 pesos in donations!
What a great day!  There are still many more dogs of all ages waiting their turn.  Check out Our Puppies or Our Dogs pages for details and message us!

We're delighted that Nell got adopted by Glenn and family.  We couldn't be happier, and hope that the last of Nesta's puppies, Norrie isn't far behind!

We have some wonderful news, Renee was adopted on 13 December 2023.   She's adjusted quickly and is happily sleeping in the
adopters bedroom.  What a wonderful outcome for this sweet girl who was tied up alone outside with insufficient food and fresh water.
Now she is being given the love and care she deserves!

Liv – Adopt a Stray

Liv

On 20 November 2023 this little puppy was reported to us.
She was born to a stray dog whom the reporter was feeding. Sadly the mother died 11 days ago and only one puppy survived.
The reporter has been trying to bottle feed her but she has stopped drinking milk now.

It's really not easy raising new borns as they are so vulnerable and fragile.
Luckily Liv survived and went home to her new family, Rachelle, her husband and two children.
