Bubbles – Adopt a Stray

Bubbles

Bubbles tumor

On 16 March 2024, under our "Adopt a Stray" programme, we rescued a young female dog with tumors.  Her story is a sad one - her owner died and she was being cared for by neighbours and a caretaker.  Both the reporter and caretaker want her back.

Jax when rescued

This is not in the least surprising - she is a very cuddly and well-adjusted dog!  Just as soon as we can get her well, she'll be returned to the people who are missing her most.

Midnight

On 27 February 2024, under our "Adopt a Stray" programme, we rescued a starving dog barely able to stand.  She was limping badly, full of ticks, fleas and worms, and had a discharge from her eyes.

We will investigate her mobility issues, deal with her infestations, and get her well fed and ready to begin her new life with her reporter.

Monte – Adopt a Stray

Monte

Monte when rescued

On 25 February 2024, under our "Adopt a Stray" programme, we rescued an adult dog who could not walk.  He was very placid and docile, which may mean he had owners previously.  His reporters agreed to adopt him when he is well, and we called him Monte.

We investigated his mobility issues, which over time disappeared, so maybe just some passing trauma.  We got him well fed and ready to begin his new life with his reporter.  He's still quite shy, but we're sure he'll settle down in his new home away from the noisy chaos of the Sanctuary!

Fernee – Adopt a Stray

Fernee when rescued

On 22 February 2024, under our "Adopt a Stray" programme, we responded to an emergency call for a young hit-and-run victim we called Fernee.  She could not move her back legs and was in great distress.

She also tested positively for Parvovirus, so she had a lot to contend with.  She pulled through, and after a few treatments of laser therapy on her back and legs, her mobility began to improve.  Just a month later she was returned to her reporters who had agreed to adopt her at the time of her rescue.

She is still a little wobbly, but a massive improvement on where she was just a short while ago.  Wishing you all the best Fernee!

ToyToy

On 15 February 2024, under our "Adopt a Stray" programme, we rescued a black dog named ToyToy who had a badly infected neck wound from a lanyard tied tightly around his neck.  His reporter wanted to adopt him when he is better, so we took him in and began treatment.

He is a very calm and trusting soul who has just been neglected.  Once he's healed, he will be returned to his new home.
