Darcy

Rescued on 7 September 2021, Darcy was a victim of a hit and run, then fell into a canal.  Despite the Sanctuary being full, we had to bring her in and try our best.

Darcy's Story

It's really hard when we are at capacity and we get a report of a dog in distress.
We got a report of a dog that had been hit by a motorbike during the night and fallen into a canal.
She was in the water for nearly ten hours before she was pulled out.

Darcy when rescued

We knew that if we didn't go she would die a slow lonely painful death, so despite being really low on funds and space we went to get her.

Darcy when rescued

We called her Darcy. She was crying in pain when we took her out of the crate, and full of ticks and fleas.
We checked for broken bones, and put her pain killers and IV.

Darcy when rescued

She is a very pretty girl, completely physically recovered, but is still quite shy.  She would benefit from a calm, quiet environment.

Clementine is starting to improve. We believe her condition was due to calcium deficiency and now she's having regular IV infusions of calcium and magnesium.
