BLAKE

Blake

Blake

Rescued on 25 August 2021, Blake came from from Sibulan with a terrible wound due to TVT - Transmissable Venereal Tumours.  Fund-raising for L-asparaginase chemotherapy drugs for Brown and Beth meant he could receive treatment with leftover serum.

Blake's Story

Blake was a stray from Sibulan, with an awful case of TVT - Transmissable Venereal Tumours - on his penis.  Most of it was eaten away, poor thing.  This is quite common for stray dogs, both male and female.

Blake

We already had a dog with a bad case of multiple tumours, Brown.  The best course of treatment is expensive - P3,200per vial and we needed four.

Blake's cancer

Blake

Due to the generosity of our donors responding to an online fund raiser, we managed to purchase enough L-asparaginase chemotherapy drug for Blake, Brown, and another dog rescued as a result, Beth.  Brown is in remission, but sadly Beth did not survive much longer. Brown has returned to his rescuer - such an excellent way to end a story of abandonment and a welcome boost to us to know that there are people out there willing to support these seemingly impossible recoveries.

Blake

Blake's cancer has gone into decline as well, which is fantastic news.  As with all our TVT-survivors, will continue to monitor him closely, and keep our fingers crossed that he can enjoy a robust good health from now on.

Blake still has a weakness in one of his hind legs which was from an old injury before he came to us. He isn't very sociable and generally spends his time hanging out with his gang on top of the generator building with the rest of his gang barking at whoever goes by....!

And who knows, maybe there's a family out there ready to give me a new start in life!
