Gandalf recovered
Rescued by Kate and Paolo from one of our loyal sponsors, ECE Consulting Group, Gandalf was skin, bones, mange and nothing else. Lucky for him that Kate and Paol will be giving him a loving home as soon as they are done throwing a big fence up!
He is placid and gentle, and will have a wonderful new home to look forward to.
Gandalf's Story
Paolo and Kate of ECE Consulting Group rescued Gandalf in 6 March 2021, and asked if the Sanctuary could take him in, bet him better, at their expense, after which they would adopt him.

After treating for Mange, we began to feed him up, and he began to gather strength, despite contracting Distemper which was rife at the time.

He put on weight, grew his coat back, and now is UNRECOGNISABLE! We held off releasing him to his new home, to ensure he was clear of his battle with Distemper, and to give Paolo and Kate time to prepare the perfect home for him. We couldn't be happier with his transformation.

Gandalf and Louie Adopted!

Patience is a virtue! Gandalf was rescued by Kate and Paolo of ECE Consulting some months ago, and was placed at the Sanctuary to recover from severe mange and malnutrition (see Gandalf's Profile Page for his full story).
The lovely Michai was also lined up for a new home alongside him, but she fell victim to Pancreatitis due to her weakened state following her Distemper infection and died (see her story on her Remembrance Page).

Gandalf too had Distemper, but managed to fight it off, and now we are happy to report that LOUIE is joining him in his new home (you can read Louie's full story on his Profile Page). Despite being run over several times, and having to have his right hind leg amputated, he remains the happiest of dogs, with a winning character, and will be an inseparable buddy to Gandalf in their new home together.
