MOLLY

Molly

Molly recovering

A stray that hung around Malatapay Market, Molly was picked up after a hit-and-run on 12 July 2021.

Despite having the look of a much older dog, her teeth indicate she is perhaps only 2 years old.

Molly's Story

Estella, our adoption manager, bought Molly in following a hit-and-run incident that left one leg horribly mangled, and the other leg in poor condition.  Amputation of the worst leg was necessary to avoid infection and life-threatening Septicemia.

Molly when rescued

Molly's surgery

She had multiple scars from what looks like hot water or oil being thrown over her, and was also painfully thin.  We would have loved to find someone who would be willing to adopt her and finally give her some love and care after she has recovered from her surgery.

Molly after surgery

However, Molly had different plans! In late November 2021, she didn't appear at morning roll call, and a quick search revealed a hole in the fence behind the food store sheds so she must have been working on it for a while.
She had never settled at the Sanctuary and did not made any friends and had been trying to escape for a while. We did spot her again hiding in the banana trees outside but couldn't get near her, and we haven't seen her since.  We hope that she has finally been adopted by the wild and she is keeping herself happy and healthy.  Maybe she will be back when she needs us again!
